Visited the ancient sites of Delphi and Olympia a while back and figured I should post some pics of the trip… Let’s start with Delphi As you know Delphi was the site of the most important oracle in the ancient times The name Delphoi is connected with delph "hollow" or delphus, because Apollo first came to Delphi in the shape of a dolphin…Hence this site is dedicated to him Apollo temple Apollo besides being the God of medicine, healing, truth and light was also an oracular God

next is a pic of "the treasury of the Athenians" The Treasury of the Athenians was built in 487 BCE in gratitude to the gods for the victory at Marathon over the Persians

Some pics from the Delphi museum (some are of bad quality I know because of poor lighting inside) Statue of Hagias (far right). He was an athlete who won 4 Olympic medals during ancient Olympics
