Merry Christmas everyone! I hope your holiday was spectacular. BJ - that dinner looked fantastic! Tyler - love the snow blower. Somehow I don't think it'll be quite sufficient. Perhaps you need a bigger model .
Our holiday was quiet. Both kids are grown and have lives of their own now. My daughter was with her boyfriend and his family and we will see them next weekend here at our house. My son the Submariner is deployed and currently in 'silent stealth mode' - haven't heard from him in weeks. As much as I would have loved to see an email from him in the queue yesterday, I knew it wasn't going to happen. I do send him a note a few times a week and when he's able to, I know he will reply. In the meantime, I try to send updates and love from the homefront.
I can't remember if / when I told y'all but I was recently elected Mayor of our little town and took the oath of office last weekend. I like to tease everyone and say that we had the largest "bigliest" crowd ever for an inaugural event. Well, in my case we did as I had a houseful of family and friends to celebrate the occasion. I officially take over at 00:01 on 1 January and am looking forward to getting back to the table and helping our little town continue its journey into the 21st century.
Best wishes to each of you for the Happiest of Holidays, and wishes for Peace, Health and Prosperity in 2018!
Thanks everyone. Been a crazy busy weekend and a year in general. Life continues in a positive direction and that's all I can ask. I am beyond blessed by everyone in my small circle - y'all included. Thanks again for the well wishes and I hope to be around for many, many more to come .
A few years ago, my wife and I visited Savannah, GA - I've always liked "the old South" and nothing says "Old South" quite like Savannah. Unfortunately the weather was uncooperative which gives us an excuse to go back and visit again.
A few shots from Bonaventure Cemetery - featured in the movie / book "From The Garden of Good and Evil"
We also visited Tybee Island - I love lighthouses - I guess it goes back to my Navy days .
