I love using the internet as much as the next guy, but one thing that really bugs me about it is the constant requirement for user names and passwords for just about everything. "Necessary for security" you say, but unless you have a phenomenal memory or use the same words over and over again, all you can do is keep a list somewhere to refer to when needed. You even have to remember what "case" was used in some cases. Even my own AT&T email system requires me to "sign in" at certain intervals to access my emails. I know in most cases there are ways to retrieve or change your passwords if lost or forgotten, but still to me it's all a big nuisance!! mad.gif

There.......I've said it and I'm glad!! dry.gif

Another thing I find irritating:

Occasionally I like to do research on various subjects using Yahoo or Google search, and I find many websites require you to provide name & address, or email address, or cell phone number before you can use their site. I suppose this is so they can spam you to death!! mad.gif For me, I just move on to another site. dry.gif

I don't trust "software" with my passwords. I usually have about 6 different ones with slight variations that are "active".

The latest version of Norton 360 comes with an automatic user name/password "memory" setup that has worked great for me. It will even remember multiple user names and passwords for the same site log-in wink.gif

cozmo, depending on the browser you are using, you may have multiple logon/passwords being stored for the same site. You can also go into the file storing the information and delete whatever you want.

I know firefox was holding on to an old logon/password combo for me with this forum. I went and deleted the old one, and the new one took over.

I believe IE will ask if you want the old one replaced.

That is why I use Firefox. I always save my passwords and with the options field-I can always check the password log and have my password handy. It cuts out the middle man.
