I always wonder if his clients know about his other side :)

Haha I have the same thoughts about myself especially living in a pretty conservative military town. When I first started at Re/Max I got a weird message through my Real Estate website critiquing the ridiculous picture of me wearing a suit sporting a pretty ridiculous grin. It was very reminiscent of the writing style of a former member here whose name rhymes with 'Daroux'. Commenting the suit was too big for me which it was, I don't own a suit - I still don't - and I borrowed somebody's suit jacket and tie to make that picture happen I was only wearing boxer shorts during that photo session as I had no dress pants handy . I absolutely loathed the picture but I thought I had to have some thing formal as all the others do. After I got familiar with my client base, I switched to a very casual picture of myself with some stubble and a red T-shirt. Became the agent known as 'the guy with the red T-shirt'.

My area of focus is actually commercial Real Estate more than residential. In my very first year I came in the top 100 at Re/Max for Canada out of 22,000 agents in Canada! The guy that mentored me in (some of you might recognize the name, his name is Carl, he was at the Labour Day weekend get together of Tyler's Room members all those years ago) specialized in commercial so I learned fast. The majority of Real Estate agents in this area are military wives who are just doing it as a hobby (there are way too many of them) and none of them have a clue how to do commercial transactions so we have a little bit of our own niche market up here.

Congrats!!! I've heard that unless you're going to specialize in multi-million dollar homes, commercial is the way to the bucks. Hopefully that letter came with a nice little bonus check!

I'm not looking for money, I'm just looking for feedback on whether you want to keep it. I will do what you guys want. I like having it here but it seems we are using it less and less that's all.

I can let it go and mourn. I've missed your active involvement anyway. I am also on Gayspeak https://gayspeak.com/portal.php but it's not the same but okay.

I'm chadcoxrox on fb and instagram and my personal Mike fb and IG are reserved for none sexual stuff because I have loads of sweet senior friends and family members. I will definitely miss this forum. :blink2::wacko::unsure2::sad: :brokenheart: :love3:

I would miss this place :big cry:

I have been here pretty much almost from the start and I am used to coming here daily, or at least on a semi-daily basis. I met my first boyfriend through these forums. Unfortunately the relationship ended badly, but it was for the better, so I'm alright with it. But there's still that sense of specialness to the place. The forums also helped me become more comfortable with the idea of living a gay lifestyle and coming out to others, so there's that too. (Thanks Tyler!) I understand the reasons for it going bye bye, and would ultimately accept it, but it would still be nice to have it around.

It certainly has been a long run. Ups, downs, battles won and lost. Drama here and there, and sometimes everywhere. Too many users dead (IRL) ,or dead-to-me. I'll admit that it's a little odd to think of taking the forums out of my start-up pages! But I think the time is right. Paying for a hosting service just for a forum with less than 10 regular posters doesn't make a whole lot of financial sense.

I'm on Facebook, Instagram (bjones9942), and Mastodon (@bjones9942@twit.social). Primarily Facebook. I usually cross post between here and my Facebook page too - there aren't a lot of 'forum' only posts. For the couple of people who haven't 'friended' me on Facebook, this is me: https://www.facebook.com/brett.jones.9942. Send me a friend request, and if I recognize you I'll accept! Lol.

If you decide to let it go, let us know when you intend on flipping the switch so we can say a final adios.

I really dont know what to do so what I will do is find out what the new hosting is going to cost and make a decision then and keep you guys well-informed. If its reasonable, will just keep it but they were quoting me in the hundreds which wasnt reasonable but I think they were possibly quoting the wrong thing. More later

Just realized a little glitch Ive never noticed before, posting from my iPhone it wont do punctuation weird. For example there is an apostrophe in Ive on the preview window but when I hit post its going to disappear. Weird!

Tyler - some of us old foggies aren't tuned into Facepalm or Twitagram or whatever the latest in social media shennanigans is out there. These forums have been one of the few outlets to let off steam (and other wattery substances  ). But, whatever you decide; we'll make do as we've always done :love3:
